Fighting games are where the players go up against either another player or the computer in close combat fighting.  These characters usually have special skill sets and the game consists of several rounds in one or many different arenas.  The very first fighting game was released in 1976 and was called Heavyweight Champ but the game Karate Champ was the game that made this genre popular.

#1           Street Fighter

Originally released in 1987, published and developed by Capcom as an arcade game before being released on the various gaming console and pc platforms.
The latest release being Street Fighter V on the 16th February 2016 and as Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition on the 16th January 2018.

#2           Mortal Kombat

First developed as a video game franchise in 1992 by Midway Games.  The studio was acquired by Warner Bros after experiencing financial difficulties and turned into NetherRealm Studios Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
The franchise which eventually became Mortal Kombat has spawned many a spin-off, cartoon, television series and fighting games.
The very first release of the game was on the 8th October 1992 and the latest release of the game was on the 1st March 2016

#3           Tekken

With its twisted story and dark secrets of its characters, this game is one that all fighting gamer enthusiastic have played.
Developed to be played on most gaming platforms from Andriod, Arcade, Nintendo 3Ds, through nearly all the PS versions, Wii U, Wonder Swan and both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
It was originally released in 1994 with its newest release Tekken 7 on the 2nd June 2017
